ActiPatch® ADVANCED LONG-LASTING PAIN RELIEF ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE THERAPY… A Review by BACK PAIN BLOG UK

I was sent ActiPatch® for muscle and joint pain relief. ActiPatch® is a new and clinically proven drug-free technology in the fight against chronic muscle and joint pain.

The ActiPatch® works by helping blood flow in the body regulate by electrical signals that travel along nerves. The ActiPatch® modifies these nerve signals, providing pain relief by enhancing blood flow which reduces inflammation and restores the injured tissue to a healthy state.

You wont feel heat with the ActiPatch® but you will feel the low level energy that is gently pulsed into the cells to heal damaged tissue. It should start working after about 2 -3 hours and should decrease your pain for around 8 – 24 hours if you keep the ActiPatch® on.

There is a warning on the pack that the ActiPatch® should not be used by women who are pregnant or think they are pregnant. It’s easy to apply and they tell you to place it directly over the source of pain, They also have a back wrap to keep it in place and a knee wrap.

As most of my readers know I suffer from chronic low back and neck pain as well as Fibromyalgia so I decided to try the back wrap with the ActiPatch® placed underneath it.  Although I definitely felt some pain relief I was unable to lower my pain medication but a week later my right knee started to play up so I decided I would try the patch with the adhesives ad place it on the top of my knee. After only a couple of hours the pain went away completely, and so far has not come back again.

The ActiPatch® has to be ideal for any type of muscle or joint pain. On their website The Fibromyalgia Support Group undertook a chronic pain survey and concluded that ActiPatch®’s innovative technology “is an invaluable new pain therapy that can greatly benefit the majority of Fibromyalgia sufferers, helping them effectively and safely self-manage their pain and improve quality of life²”. From this, 79% of responders reported a reduction in their pain having used ActiPatch®.

Using ActiPatch® for Tennis Elbow and Golfer Elbow

As an athlete, there is nothing more frustrating than being sidelined with an injury. While most of us do not have the talent to play professional sports that does not mean we are any less enthusiastic about our activities. Unlike sprains, strains and tears, Tennis Elbow and Golfer Elbow do not happen in a single moment but rather over time in small increments but can be just as painful and debilitating.

Tennis Elbow occurs when there is swelling of tendons on your forearm that are attached near the outside of your elbow. Golfer Elbow is different in that it affects the tendons that are used in the wrist and fingers.

What both of these conditions share is that they are caused by repetitive motions. Unfortunately, this means that “playing through pain” will only make the condition worse. Additionally, even everyday tasks can become extremely painful since we use the same muscles in tennis and golf as we do performing routine tasks.

Treatment of Tennis or Golfer Elbow

Taking a break from specific sports and repetitive activities is important as the body will need time to heal. However, during this time you will likely still experience pain. One way to both manage the pain and reduce the healing time is to utilize a technology called Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMFT).

While PEMFT has been used for many years, until recently there has not been much clinical research to support its effectiveness. Now, however, there is a growing list of studies that show PEMFT to both reduce swelling and decrease pain. The major product used in these studies is ActiPatch®. This product is readily available in the UK, is affordable and is easy to use. Moreover, it is ideal for both reducing pain and healing time of Tennis Elbow and Golfer Elbow.

How ActiPatch® Works

ActiPatch® pulses 1,000 times per second to simulate neuromodulation of afferent nerves to dampen the brain’s perception of pain to provide long term relief.

In laymen terms, ActiPatch® confuses the brain by sending pulse waves to counteract the pain signals your elbow is transmitting.

Imagine your elbow is a drum that beats like this “2,4,6,8,” telling your brain that it hurts. ActiPatch® is like an opposing drum that beats “1,3,5,7”. When you put both of them together, the brain can no longer hear the beat of pain. Best of all the ActiPatch® is completely safe and easy to use.

Using ActiPatch® for Tennis or Golfer Elbow

The elbow is a notoriously difficult body part to put a bandage or other medical devices on simply because of its inherent range of motion. While there is no one way to attach an ActiPatch® to the elbow there are a few best practices.

Placement:

For best results, place the loop of the device around the source of the pain. This can be over the elbow but is often below the elbow near the forearm.

Bandage or wrap: One preferred method is to use any soft wrap. Simply center the ActiPatch® around your elbow while you wrap in in place. This method works very well to hold the ActiPatch® in place although you may experience some loss of range of motion.

Sock: That’s right, a sock can be a really effective way to hold an ActiPatch® in place. Just cut the toe off of a sock that has lost its partner and then slip it on your arm. Placing the ActiPatch® around the elbow and then moving the sock up to your bicep will hold the device in place. The added bonus is that if you choose your sock wisely you can have a very fashionable elbow.

ActiPatch® Knee Wrap: Some people find that they can use the wrap that comes with ActiPatch® Knee Pain relief. Since the knee and the elbow work in a similar fashion, you can often take the knee wrap and to use around your elbow.

ActiPatch

So whether you use a sock, tape or wrap, you are sure to find relief from your Tennis or Golfer Elbow utilizing PEMF technology found in ActiPatch®. The vast majority of people who report getting relief, indicate that this occurs within 3 or 4 days, so or those who have never tried ActiPatch®, the 7 day trial is a perfect way to find out how effective it can be for your pain.

ActiPatch® also comes in a 720 hour model that features an on/off switch making it perfect to keep in the medicine cabinet for when pain strikes.

ActiPatch® products can be purchased in the UK at Boots, Lloyds, Superdrug, Gordons and many other stores. Additionally, all ActiPatch® products, including the 7 Day Trial, can be found on tryactipatch.co.uk

Taking the mystery out of Fibromyalgia – What is it & how to relieve the pain, drug-free

Fibromyalgia is a little-known and often misunderstood condition with multiple symptoms which include widespread pain (with extreme sensitivity to that pain), fatigue, muscle stiffness and difficulty sleeping. Sufferers can also experience problems with memory and concentration.

The cause of the condition is unknown, but it’s thought that abnormal levels of some brain chemicals change the way that the nervous system processes pain messages. A typical sufferer is aged between 30 and 50, with women more frequently affected than men, though fibromyalgia is also seen in both children and the elderly.

There’s no cure yet for fibromyalgia and treating it focuses on drugs for pain control, antidepressants, life style changes and counselling. It’s estimated that approximately two million people in the UK suffer from fibromyalgia¹ and many people suffer without understanding their symptoms. Although drugs may reduce pain, they frequently come with a range of unwelcome side effects.

However drug-free pain help is at hand with ActiPatch®, a small portable device which is placed over an area of pain. ActiPatch® delivers electromagnetic pulses that stimulate the nerve cells surrounding the core area of pain, helping to release the body’s natural pain relievers such as dopamine, while normalising the nerve functions.

The Fibromyalgia Support Group undertook a chronic pain survey and concluded that ActiPatch®’s innovative technology “is an invaluable new pain therapy that can greatly benefit the majority of Fibromyalgia sufferers, helping them effectively and safely self-manage their pain and improve quality of life²”. From this, 79% of responders reported a reduction in their pain having used ActiPatch®.

Ben Fichter, Marketing Manager of the BioElectronics Corporation which makes the ActiPatch® commented:

“Fibromyalgia is a complex pain disorder which is difficult to treat and seriously impacts the lives of sufferers. Controlled studies are proving the worth of ActiPatch® in managing pain, irrespective of its location.”

Gentle exercise, such as walking or swimming may help to ease stiffness for sufferers. Relaxation techniques and managing stress also plays a part in handling what is sometimes known as an ‘invisible illness’.

Using ActiPatch for Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia can affect many parts of the body so the product should be used on the worst area of pain or more than one device can be used. The ActiPatch® device module only houses the battery and can be placed in any direction. The therapeutic area is within the loop of the ActiPatch® device. The loop area should be placed directly over the source of the pain. For maximum pain relief, wear continuously in one area until pain diminishes.

You can essentially use any type of wraps, adhesives, bandages or clothing to hold the ActiPatch® in place. This mobile pain relief technology can be easily integrated into your daily activity routine making it easy to move freely without any inconvenience.
